Our Victorian style bed and breakfast was built circa 1850 by one of Newport RI's prominent families, the Kings. Accommodations at our B&B have been lovingly restored to recapture the grand look and feel of the Victorian period in Newport.

Each of the rooms in this Newport RI Inn were decorated with a distinctive theme in mind. It won't take much imagination to whisk you back to that bygone era of opulence and gentility. The breakfast conservatory on the third floor has a breathtaking view of Newport Harbor, the Ida Lewis Yacht Club, and Fort Adams (location of music festivals). Guests can observe the status of festival parking before leaving the breakfast table.

Rory, one of the inn's owners, is a professional musician. Her primary instrument is piano, but she also enjoys playing the guitar and drums. Viola was her instrument in the local "Symphony by the Sea." She was lead vocalist and pianist in her own jazz group, and has played extensively throughout Rhode Island with other pop, rock and blues bands. Guests are often pleasantly surprised to be invited to a performance for them only in the conservatory while they enjoy the sunset on Newport harbor. Ric, also an owner of the inn, is gregarious by nature, and seems born to be an innkeeper. He has a passionate interest in cooking, singing, music, and good conversation. He enjoys nothing more than provoking a lively exchange of ideas with guests on virtually any subject. With mellow jazz playing in the background, many mornings have found the guests lingering well beyond the normal breakfast time, deeply engaged in conversation with each other and Ric on subjects ranging from the economy or politics to art, music, and cinema, or just about life itself.

Newport RI lodging guests come from across the United States, and much of the world. This adds immeasurably to the interest of the breakfast conversations.

Rory and Ric have several commercial CD recordings, one of the projects was made in the spirit of sharing the joy of singing sea shanties.
